Terms & Conditions

By booking a service with Shannon Spence, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions. These terms are designed to ensure clear expectations between the artist and client, and to protect both parties.

services

Shannon Spence is a professional freelance makeup artist based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, offering services including bridal makeup, event makeup, makeup lessons, and makeup for film, television, and media productions.

Services are provided on a mobile basis unless otherwise agreed. Shannon Spence is available for national and international travel. All travel outside the local service area is subject to additional travel fees and accommodation costs where applicable.

booking + Confirmation

All bookings must be made via website or email and are subject to availability.

A non-refundable 50% deposit is required to secure all bookings. No appointment is confirmed until the deposit has been received.

The deposit secures your date and time and is applied toward the final balance.

Cancellations + rescheduling

Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours in advance for regular appointments.

For bridal bookings, group bookings, and special event bookings, a minimum of 2 weeks’ notice is required.

Late cancellations, changes outside of these timeframes, or no-shows will result in the forfeiture of the deposit. Additional fees may apply where applicable.

late arrivals

A 15-minute grace period is provided for late arrivals.

If the client arrives more than 15 minutes late, the appointment may need to be shortened or rescheduled depending on scheduling.

If rescheduling is required due to lateness, the original deposit will be forfeited and a new deposit will be required to secure a new booking.

Health, hygiene + Client responsibility

Clients are required to disclose any allergies, skin conditions, sensitivities, or medical concerns prior to their appointment.

Clients must arrive with a clean, makeup-free face unless otherwise instructed.

If a client is unwell, Shannon Spence reserves the right to reschedule the appointment to maintain a safe and hygienic working environment.

All tools, products, and equipment are thoroughly sanitized between clients, and strict hygiene standards are always maintained.

photography + content use

By booking a service, clients acknowledge that photos may be taken before, during, or after the appointment for portfolio, social media, and marketing purposes, including website use.

Clients may opt out of photo usage; however, this must be communicated prior to the appointment. If no opt-out request is made before the appointment, consent is assumed.

conduct + right to refuse service

Shannon Spence reserves the right to refuse or discontinue services at any time if a client behaves in a disrespectful, abusive, unsafe, or inappropriate manner.

No refunds will be issued in such cases.

travel + additional fees

All travel-related expenses, including but not limited to mileage, flights, accommodation, and parking fees, are the responsibility of the client unless otherwise agreed in writing.

For destination bookings or any travel requiring more than one day, a per diem fee will apply. This covers daily living expenses such as meals and incidentals for the duration of the booking and will be included in the total quoted service fee.

Any parking fees incurred during mobile appointments will be added to the final invoice and are payable by the client.

liability

While all care is taken to ensure a safe and professional service, Shannon Spence is not liable for any allergic reactions, skin reactions, or adverse outcomes resulting from products used during or after the appointment where the client has failed to disclose relevant information.

Clients are responsible for informing the artist of any known allergies, sensitivities, or skin conditions prior to the appointment.

bridal trials

Bridal makeup trials are mandatory for all bridal bookings and are booked separately from the wedding day service.

 

Trials are subject to the same booking, cancellation, and payment policies outlined in this agreement.

By securing a booking with Shannon Spence, the client confirms they have read, understood, and agree to these Terms & Conditions in full.
